Cell Tower For average consumers, '3G' and '4G' are two of the most mysterious terms in the mobile technology dictionary, but they're used relentlessly to sell phones and tablets. If you're shopping for a new phone, the answer isn't clear-cut, and you shouldn't always go for the higher number. Our primer will help explain which technology to pick. 3G and 4G Explained First things first, the "G" stands for a generation of mobile technology, installed in phones and on cellular networks. Each "G" generally requires you to get a new phone, and for networks to make expensive upgrades. The first two were analog cell phones (1G) and digital phones (2G). Then it got complicated. Third-generation mobile networks, or 3G, came to the U.S. in 2003. With minimum consistent Internet speeds of 144Kbps, 3G was supposed to bring "mobile broadband." There are now so many varietie...

Why the low disk space error appears No matter how big your computer’s hard drive is, you manage to fill it up eventually. Windows 8 needs a minimum amount of free disk space to run properly. If Windows does not have enough available free space to store its data, it starts to slow down, and you can’t install new programs unless you delete something. Luckily, low disk space problems can be fixed without deleting any of your important files. MAC (or Machine Access Control) address is best thought of as kind of serial number assigned to every network adapter. No two anywhere should have the same MAC address. (I’ll talk about that “should” more in a moment.) You can see your network adapter’s MAC addresses by using the command prompt in Windows Each network adapter on your computer, including wired and wireless interfaces, has one. MAC addresses are typically used only to direct packets from one device to the next as data travels on a network. That means that your computer’s network adapter’s MAC address travels the network only until the next device along the way. If you have a router, then your machine’s MAC address will go no further than that. The MAC address of your router’s internet connection will show up in packets sent further upstream, until that too is replaced by the MAC address of the next device – likely either your modem or your ISP’s router. Bottom line: your MAC address doesn’t make it out very far. E...

A Wi-Fi alliance founded by various companies tests and authorizes gadgets to be Wi-Fi compatible. 3. Versions: Since its inception, Bluetooth has seen several versions of it such as Bluetooth 2.0, Bluetoo...
